Fenoterol is a fast-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist used to treat and prevent bronchospasm in conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, improving breathing within minutes.

Key Features:

• Rapid relief from shortness of breath, wheezing, and chest tightness.

• Available as an inhaler (aerosol or nebulizer solution) for quick absorption.

• Often combined with ipratropium bromide (e.g., Berodual®) for enhanced effects.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults & children (typically 6+ years): 1-2 inhalations every 4–6 hours as needed.

• Nebulizer solution: Used in severe cases under medical supervision.

• Max 8 inhalations/day to avoid side effects.

Side Effects:

• Common: Tremors, headache, palpitations, nervousness.

• Rare but serious: Hypokalemia, tachycardia, paradoxical bronchospasm.
